NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to recognise the contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make in our society and for all Australians to celebrate together as a united community.
During NAIDOC Week 2019, our Inclusion Professional visited a small community in the Kimberley region to participate in Jarndu.
he local women’s coming together during Barrgarna season to celebrate the living culture of Customary Lore and Culture. Being part of this community event demonstrate the commitment of our consortium to reconciliation in the region and an opportunity to learn of ancient stories and country.
The WA Inclusion Agency team were also immersed in culture during our annual training event in May 2019 with the intention of creating a deeper understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture that we can bring back to Early Learning and Child Care services.
Make a difference in your service and talk to your Inclusion Professional if you need some help to get you started on your own journey towards Reconciliation and Cultural Competency.
